Eligibility Criteria

  • Be from a developing or emerging country (e.g., Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, African, and Latin American nations).
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in a relevant field.
  • Have excellent academic performance and strong motivation for public service.
  • Ideally have relevant work experience, volunteering, or internships.
  • Must not have lived in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.

How to Apply

  1. Choose up to two master’s programs from the list of eligible DAAD partner universities.
  2. Apply directly to the universities with required documents: CV, motivation letter, degree transcripts, reference letters, proof of experience, etc.
  3. Indicate that you’re applying for the Helmut-Schmidt-Programme (DAAD Scholarship).
  4. No separate DAAD application is needed unless specified by the university.
